Mobile websites

The Mobile Presentation component enables you to easily set up websites for mobile phones. The use of mobile internet is increasing rapidly. To reach these customers, this component offers tools and examples that enable you to set up a mobile website quickly and easily. The mobile website and your normal website are managed from the same GX WebManager environment. All the useful GX WebManager features like personalization, forms and integration possibilities can also be used for the mobile channel. You are also prepared for future use of Location Based Services. Unlike the normal desktop browser, those available on mobile phones vary greatly in screen sizes, technology support, etc. GX offers integration with a well-established solution for device recognition. Now you can develop compelling mobile websites for your users regardless of the type of mobile phone they use.

Page Sections

This component allows you to fill page sections with content, select the design, and determine the location of elements. On the page level, only the page sections that should be displayed are selected.
Page sections are specifically intended for content to be used on multiple pages. Examples of page sections are a colophon, a search block, an overview of job openings, recent news releases, and so forth.

Layout Management

The Layout Management module gives the website administrator the option of setting up and changing the layout of pages centrally. Design frameworks are created and saved as centrally defined models. These models are assigned to content elements locally or based on the site structure. The page layout can be fully and directly modified with the additional Design API or WCB Extension Pack: Presentation API.

Fonts & Styles

Fonts and styles determine a website’s appearance. A style in GX WebManager contains an array of colors, images, fonts, and buttons. The website administrator can define styles and determine on which pages the styles will be used. It is also possible to upload page images.

Flash & Imagemap

This license component allows you to deliver image maps and Flash elements . An image map is an image with clickable areas. Map coordinates can be used to define these areas. The Flash content element can be used to support Adobe Flash animations on a page. The Flash animation performance can be set by the designer. It is also possible to dynamically construct text, images, and links in a Flash animation.

Page Models

A page model is a pre-defined page format and setup. Authorizations can be defined in such a way that specific editors can only use certain page templates. ‘Press Release’ and ‘Job Opening’ are typical page templates.

ObjectManager

Using the ObjectManager, Flash, Image, and Download (documents, PDFs, etc.) object types can be saved and maintained centrally. Using the ObjectManager’s user interface, objects can be added, and generic meta data (e.g., keywords, status, and publication date) as well as specific meta data (e.g., the size of an image, the author of a file to be downloaded, etc) can be added. Also, images can be resized to adjustable default formats.

Presentation API

This API allows you to build and maintain a new website presentation. With this API, the new presentation can be added and/or deleted live as a whole.
